American 7-Eleven convenience stores are set to receive a Japanese refresh with the introduction of a range of new items, including chicken teriyaki rice balls, miso ramen, and sweet chilli crisp wings.
Despite beginning its days as a US company, founded in Texas in 1927, 7-Eleven has been owned by Tokyo-headquartered retail conglomerate 7 & i Holdings since 2005. And the convenience store food found in Japanese 7-Eleven stores has become iconic over the years, even classed as a tourist attraction in its own right.
And now the retail chain has announced that the unique range of food only previously available in Asia will soon be made available stateside too.
"We are constantly evolving the fresh food assortment in our stores, tailoring the offerings at each location to meet the needs and preferences of local customers," a 7-Eleven spokesperson said.
One of the most iconic items to make its way to America is the Japanese 7-Eleven egg salad sando, already spotted in stores in Orange County.
