Amazon Opens Pop-Up Bar in Japan

Online retail giant Amazon is this month offering a range of drinks that are sold through its Japan site and a few special drinks only available at the bar. Open for 10 days from October 20th to the end of the month.

The bar will feature an innovative automated system that will use consumer preferences to suggest drinks. "Amazon Bar will offer a wide variety of drinks procured from across the globe, and offer exclusive products as well as samples of products not yet on store shelves," announced an Amazon representative.

Following the purchase of Whole Foods and the opening of bricks and mortar book shops, this is another step onto the high street for the retailer. The temporary bar is situated in Ginza, Tokyo's prestige shopping district where stores including Apple and Louis Vuitton have flagship outlets.
