OzHarvest, Australia's leading food rescue organisation founded by Ronni Kahn AO in 2004 to tackle the huge volume of food going to waste, has launched a new collaboration with world renowned chef Massimo Bottura and his charity Food for Soul. The collaboration will see the opening of Refettorio in Sydney this month, a unique community space where those in need are welcome, to come in and enjoy a nourishing meal that lifts the spirit.
The Refettorio will offer a free lunch made with love to those experiencing food insecurity. Charities can book ahead of time to bring groups and space will be available for people in need to drop-in for something to eat. Regardless of circumstance, all guests will be warmly welcomed and served with dignity and respect by a dedicated team of volunteers.
With the space serving free meals to those in need during the day, by night Refettorio will serve as a function space to fund those meals, with every dollar that comes in going into feeding more people, with all guests treated to the same high quality experience. Find out more...
