The Van will be popping up at street food events and festivals around the country, and is a more compact and even more portable take on the Byron Shack, which made its debut at festivals around the country last summer. The Van’s first appearance was at Camden Town Brewery’s Black Friday on Friday 13th April, and it will be returning there on 25th May, 8th June, 22nd June and 6th July. Other appearances around the country include The Lunch Market at Canary Wharf (29th May and 25th September); the Marylebone Summer Fayre (17th June) and at the Cornbury Festival in Oxfordshire (29th June – 1st July). Self-contained and self-sufficient, the Van can be ready at a moment’s notice, with Byron’s usual heavy charcoal grills swapped for a lightweight flat-top. One side of the stainless steel, silver Van opens to create a serving hatch, with a diner-style menu board alongside.
The Van will be sticking to Byron’s short and simple menu, with a focus on proper hamburgers the way they should be: patties made with good beef from small Scottish farms minced freshly every morning, cooked pink, and served in a soft, squishy bun with minimum fuss and fanfare. Just three choices of hamburger – classic, with cheese, and the signature Byron (with cheese, bacon and Byron sauce) - will be on offer.
Byron’s Shack will also be back on the road this year, appearing at festivals throughout Britain. Festival dates for the Shack include:
