Chinese New Year is always a joy for the senses, from delicate sweet treats to the grandest of banquets, there was an immense number of noteworthy mentions for our official report. However, here are just a few of our personal favourites:
London's Yauatcha branches chose to mark the occasion with a series of 12 limited edition macarons, each as a nod to the traditional animals of the Chinese zodiac; this new year marking that of the rat.
Haakasan, also in the capital, managed to create an impressive dessert incarnation of the famous Chinese lucky knot to join in the celebrations.
The world famous Harrod's offered a twist on the typical afternoon tea, with their Fenjiu Chinese New Year fusing typical English elements with Fenjiu Chinese liquor and chocolates inspired by the game of mahjong.
Further afield saw KitKat release a mandarin flavoured edition with golden wrapper in Malaysia, Janice Wong designed a white chocolate & mandarin bar, while McDonald's also joined the festivities by creating a Peach McFlurry in Singapore.
There are plenty more of our Chinese New Year highlights to be enjoyed within our latest report here.
