Caffé Nero has this month announced the addition of Espresso & Tonic to its menus - the first major UK coffee chain to offer a coffee tonic drink - a trend we identified back in 2016 as a growing trend.
In partnership with Fever Tree, Caffé Nero has created two new drink flavours: The Original Espresso & Tonic with Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water and The Ultimate Espresso & Tonic with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water and Ginger Syrup.
Fever-Tree's UK marketing director, Saskia Meyer, said: "We're excited to showcase the versatility of our mixers by partnering with Caffè Nero to create two Espresso & Tonic serves - a unique combination that people may not have tried before."
In November 2016 we reported on the rise of the coffee tonic drink, how C&Ts had been all the rage, offering a unique take on cold coffee, and how mixologists started to make their mark on this trend and boozing it up.
