KFCereal: breakfast just got cluckin' weird
Forget cornflakes and toast - KFC and British cereal brand Surreal have teamed up to create KFCereal, a savoury breakfast cereal inspired by KFC's famous 11 herbs and spices.
And because apparently milk would be far too sensible, the brands recommend serving it with KFC gravy instead. Available exclusively through Surreal's online shop for £6 a box while stocks last, it's one breakfast that's definitely bringing the crunch - although whether it brings the munch is another question.

Walkers goes for gold
Walkers is moving into more premium territory with the launch of its new WalkersGold range, giving the humble crisp a little bit of luxury.
The 140g sharing bags come in three flavours - Sea Salt & Olive Oil, Somerset Mature Cheddar & Onion, and Black Truffle - with the range slow-cooked for extra crunch and character. Currently available on Ocado for £2, the Gold range hits other supermarkets from 12th October at an RRP of £1.50. Looks like Walkers is putting on the ritz - or should that be the crisps?

Shake Shack gets a taste of Thailand
Shake Shack is taking a trip to the seaside with a new collaboration with Thai actor, chef and seafood obsessive JamyJamess.
The limited-edition menu gives the burger chain a distinctly Thai twist, pairing Angus beef with crispy shrimp, coriander, pickled red onion and seafood mayo in the Surfer Boy Shack, while the Talayjai Shrimp Shack puts shrimp centre stage. There's also Sea & Fries with tom yum seasoning, crispy shrimp chins and fried kaffir lime leaves, plus a coconutshake to wash it all down. Shell we say this one has plenty going for it?

Burger King's Ice Burger is melting the rulebook
Burger King France has taken the phrase "have it your way" somewhere very chilly with its Ice Burger - a dessert that swaps the usual burger filling for vanilla ice cream.
The creation combines a warm brioche bun with vanilla ice cream, Nutella and caramelised hazelnuts, with a second version featuring Lotus Biscoff sauce and biscuit pieces. Available in France from 8th September while stocks last, it's proof that when it comes to burgers, apparently even dessert is fair game. We're cool with it.

Subway puts Peking duck in a sub
Subway has gone East-meets-West in Hong Kong with a limited-edition Peking Duck series, turning the classic roast duck dish into a rather unexpected sandwich filling.
The Peking Duck Sub combines sliced roast duck with a secret sauce, lettuce, cucumber and onion, while the wrap offers the same flavours in amore portable package. The launch also brings osmanthus honey mustard-filled chicken bites and a lemon walnut cookie to the menu, with the duck range available while stocks last. Consider this one a case of quacking the code on a very different kind of Subway.
