Crust Becomes First Australian Pizza Brand To Go Low Carb

Australia's leading pizza maker, Crust Pizza is now selling low carb pizza bases, made from cauliflower and linseed, to appeal to those looking for a healthier option.

Having been the first Australian QSR brand to offer a vegan pizza back in 2016, Crust General Manager, Renee North explained how the company has a lengthy history of catering to evolving consumer taste.

"Cheat night doesn't have to be bad with our low carb range," North told Australian Food News publication. "Customers who are looking for a lighter alternative can select from two options: our popular Chicken Florentine pizza, which can be made vegetarian, and our delicious Mediterranean Lamb pizza."

To compare the two, a Crust Pizza Chicken Florentine on a low-carb base contains 30% less carbohydrates than a regular version.

In addition to the new low carb bases, the leading Australian pizza brand has introduced a new pizza variety, 'Creole Jambalaya', consisting of Cajun spiced prawns, chicken, chorizo, capsicum, tomato crème base, lemon and parsley.
