Donostia due to open any day in London

Due to open any day soon, Donostia will serve food in the style of the Basque region in Northern Spain.  Both tapas and pintxos, which are small snacks eaten in bars, hugely popular in the area, will feature on  the menu.

A unique wine list will be made up of reds, whites and rosés from small, family-run vineyards and will also include Basque specialities such as Txakoli, a slightly sparkling white wine. Other drinks will include Natural Basque cider 'sidra' and Patxaran (a sloe-flavoured liqueur from Navarra),  Many of the wines will be imported directly by their own wine business Mountain Valley Wines and will pass the savings on directly to the customer.

Menu highlights include Cod Cheeks in the legendary Pil-Pil Basque sauce, steak from flavoursome 'vaca vieja' (old cow) meat and crispy Tolosa-style beef tongue.

Donostia will have seating for 40 with a long tapas style bar surrounding an open kitchen.  Their head chef is Tomasz Baranski who formerly ran the kitchen at the highly acclaimed Barrafina in Soho.
