Easter Retail Round-Up

We've rounded up some of the weird and whacky Easter themed products on show from a range of retail brands this season.

Deliveroo Southern Fried Choc'n Egg
Launching in cities across the UK this Easter exclusively on the Deliveroo app including London, Manchester, Bristol, Leeds and Glasgow, the Southern Fried Choc'n Egg is the country's first Easter egg which combines chocolate with the popular crispy spice blend coating.

Deliveroo's annual one-off special Easter egg packs a punch this year with savoury and sweet flavours with a milk chocolate egg shell coated with a layer of caramel flavoured chocolate for good measure. The chocolatey shell is then dunked in a savoury, crunchy outer shell inspired by southern fried chicken, with a combination of Deliveroo's own 'secret blend' of spices including garlic and onion powder, paprika, cumin, cayenne pepper and chilli powder.

Subway and Cadbury 'SubMelt'
QSR chain Subway and Cadbury have collaborated this Easter to launch a toasted Creme Egg sandwich, coming to a number of Subway branches across the country for a limited time only. The SubMelt features the sandwich chain's Italian White Bread with Cadbury Creme Eggs inside, melted for a sub with a sweet twist.

M&S Colin and the Easter Chick
Supermarket chain Marks and Spencer has introduced a new chocolate cake to partner its popular Colin the Caterpillar this Easter - a chocolate Chick. The new cake, M&S Easter Chick Meets Colin The Caterpillar, sees a half portion Colin paired with a half portion of the Easter Chick cake. Made with a chocolate sponge roll centre filled with the signature chocolate buttercream, covered in milk chocolate and topped with a cracked egg to finish the Easter look.

Gummy Bear Hot Chips at Sydney Royal Easter Show
This one. caught our eye from down under, not specifically as a product being retailed as an Easter gift but at Sydney's Royal Easter Show. The Gummy Bear Loaded Fried being served up have caused a stir on the internet this week taking the trend of blending sweet and savoury to the extreme. Hot potato chips are topped with gummy bears and sprinkled with hundreds and thousands. Would you try them?

Morrisons Cheese Egg
An alternative to the classic Easter Egg Treat, supermarket chain Morrisons has unveiled two unique new eggs to its Easter range - made entirely of cheese. The new Lancashire & Cheddar and Stratford Blue Soft Cheese Easter eggs are handmade in rural Lancashire, using the finest British cheeses. Expect a soft and tangy flavour from the Stratford Blue egg, whilst the Lancashire & Cheddar offers a soft and creamy irresistible treat for any Easter weekend.

M&S Fried Egg Popcorn
Another novelty from supermarket chain Marks & Spencer this Easter - fried egg choc corn. Announcing the limited time only launch on their Instagram, M&S said: "Sweet & Salted toffee POPCORN, COVERED in white chocolate, TOPPED with soft caramel filled yolk, that looks like a FRIED EGG! EGGCELLENT Easter treat idea."
