After a much anticipated wait, Eataly is finally opening in London this week in Liverpool Street marking the first UK location for this popular global food market chain.
The all new 42,000 square foot Italian food market features an array of Italian flavours and feels including a vast retail market, three restaurants and bars, takeaway food stalls, an outdoor drinking and dining terrace and even an on-site cookery school.
Our story starts on January 27, 2007 – when our founder, Oscar Farinetti opened the first Eataly in Torino, Italy, with the idea it would be much more than a store. He wanted to create a school, a market, a table to gather around all under one roof. He travelled across Italy's 20 regions to find the best local producers who follow the Slow Food ethos – ensuring Eataly will be a place for food that is good, clean and fair. www.eataly.co.uk
The list of restaurants and counters include La Terrazza di Eataly, open all year round serving a selection of seasonal dishes 'per la tavola' and a cocktail menu in collaboration with Aperol, Terra, an Italian wood burning grill, and of course Pasta e Pizza, for traditional wood-fired pizza and pasta.
