There’s not a lot of good news in European politics these days, but thanks to Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and the general public who have backed his campaign, Fish Fight, they are on the verge of something exceptional.
On February 6, the whole European Parliament is voting on the new Common Fisheries Policy. It's an historic moment: if they vote YES to ending discards and YES to ending overfishing, we'll be a huge step closer to making Europe's fisheries less wasteful, more productive and profitable, and truly sustainable.
