Fairtrade Fortnight is Here

Fairtrade Fortnight is here - the annual celebration of the people who grow our food, people who live in some of the poorest countries in the world and who are often exploited and badly paid. This year's campaign is focusing on the people, in particular the women, who grow the cocoa in the chocolate that is loved so much all around the world.

Running from 25th February until 10th March, Fairtrade Fortnight features various different activations and ways of joining the push. This year's campaign is focused on #SheDeserves - telling the story of cocoa farmers in Ivory Coast, through the eyes of women who struggle in their fight for the most basic of needs ... from running water, to medical care, to a living wage.

The campaign website lists seven ways in which you can get involved, from joining the pledge on social media, to holding your own fairtrade events, to signing a petition calling on the UK Government to make sure that our trade with developing countries puts poverty reduction first, delivering living incomes for all.
