An expert in Indian cuisine, Geeta's Foods has introduced a duo of microwavable Indian side dishes into Waitrose stores around the UK - Bombay Spiced Lentils & Potatoes and Saag Aloo.
The UK-based producer launched the two new convenient ready-to-heat pouches into retail late July which are ready in 90-seconds. The Saag Aloo side is made with cooked mung dahl and red split lentils paired with potatoes and spinach, slowly cooked with spices. Whilst the Bombay Spiced Lentils & Potatoes pouch consists of mung dahl and red split lentils cooked with diced potatoes in a spiced tomato and onion sauce.
Director of sales and marketing at Geeta's, Eleanor Bridgman said: "Indian flavours have widespread consumer acceptance and appeal across a range of meal and snacking occasions.
"The growth in the heat-and-eat category presents a great opportunity for our new side dishes to add Indian flavours to a raft of meal or snacking occasions, as well as the Friday night curry."
