This January, the annual Great Sausage Roll Off will return to London on Wednesday 27th January. Held at the Red Lion Pub, Barnes, twenty chefs from across Great Britain will battle it out to see who can win the coveted crown for the perfect roll.
Last year's champion, BNY Mellon head chef John Grabecki, took the prize with his roll that combined rabbit, black pudding, maple syrup and ham served with an 'offal crumb'. IF you're heading down, be sure to turn up hungry as you'll be tasting the goods, and what's more entry is free.
The fun starts at 7pm sharp, with teams from countrywide taking part, although as expected, London is well-represented with chefs from the Chamberlain Hotel, The Gun pub in Docklands and many more. The event will be judged by Masterchef finalist Emma Spitzer, food critic Kate Spicer, Bonhams head chef Tom Kemble, and Thane Prince from The Big Allotment Challenge.
