McDonald's UK has rolled out its 2025 festive menu - and yes, that includes a Grinch-themed "adult Happy Meal." Instead of a toy you get a pair of mismatched Grinch x McDonald's socks alongside your Big Mac, McPlant or 9-McNugget meal, plus the new gherkin-seasoned "Grinched McShaker Fries." Other festive treats include a Cheesy Chicken Stack, Grumble Pie, Coconut Lattes and Mischief McFlurries. Perfect excuse for a cheeky, festive fast-food trip.

Wetherspoon goes continental: first mainland-Europe pub to open in Spain
UK pub favourite Wetherspoon is spreading its wings - the chain is opening its first pub on mainland Europe at Alicante–Elche Miguel Hernández Airport next January. Named Castell de Santa Bàrbera, the compact 93 m² venue will trade from 6am to 9pm, and mix pub classics (English fry-ups, burgers, pizzas) with local Spanish dishes like garlic prawns and tortilla. Holiday-goers heading home might just spot a proper British pint before they fly.
