With restaurants no longer able to host guests onsite, many restaurants have switched to offering food to go. One of the areas which has been most prominent during this is the rise of the high-end-takeaway menu, with premium establishments swapping fine china for cardboard boxes.
Dining At A Distance
Trying to find out who is offering takeaway menus and food delivery had already become a slog of social media based digging, but the creation of Dining At A Distance has already started to remedy the situation. The non-profit website allows users to collate the places offering takeaway and delivery, has been created in collaboration with Dutch site We Are Still Open.
Breakfast Club
Often dubbed the most important meal of the day, many are now offering your favourite breakfast choices as delivery or takeaway options. With Michelin star bacon rolls, full breakfast bonanzas or simply a cup of coffee and something sweet to start your day. A comprehensive menu is now at your fingertips while you wake up and get ready for another day of working from home.
Fine Dining In
Lockdown has not stopped people from getting their fix of fine dining however, with many high end restaurants recreating entire evening menus, ready to be delivered straight to your door. The likes of Spago and L'Atelier de Joël are offering 4 to 5 course meals, complete with perfectly matched wines and even pre-dinner cocktails to replicate the experience.
