Heston's Hinds Head in Bray celebrates the Queen's Jubilee

Heston Blumenthal’s award-winning pub, the Hinds Head in Bray, is celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’Diamond Jubilee with a gala dinner on 23 April.

On 23 April 1963, Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip hosted a luncheon in the private Royal Room. The 51-strong, guest-list included Princess Anne, the King of Norway, the Queen of Denmark, the Queen of Sweden and other royals and dignitaries.

In honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this year, presiding Head Chef Kevin Love, inspired by the dishes served at the original luncheon, has created a modern interpretation of the menu.

Guests will be seated in the private Royal Room at 7:30 and served a 5 course tasting menu including Native Lobster with Crab, White Chocolate and Caviar and Saddle of Cornish Lamb with Black Pudding, Shoulder and Sweetbreads.

In keeping with the original event, numbers are limited to this exclusive evening to 51 guests, who will be seated in tables named after the original invitees at the 1963 luncheon.

The Hinds Head has a rich royal history, having hosted many royal events including Prince Philip’s stag night and the engagement celebration of Princess Margaret to Lord Snowden.
