Hot Chocolate Bombs, a.k.a. HCBs, are the latest trend to drop on social media. They are exploding their molten chocolaty & marshmallowy decadence all over platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. So what exactly are hot chocolate bombs? Well, in short, they are chocolate spheres filled with marshmallows, hot chocolate powder and often much more. The chocolate globes are then popped in a mug and drenched in hot milk. This melts the chocolate revealing the hidden mallows inside, creating an instant mug of hot chocolate and a moment of giddy childlike excitement.
Sparkling
The original HCB was, well, chocolate coloured. relying on the surprise and joy of a hidden centre. But, where's the fun in that? It hasn't taken long for the HCB to be given a glam makeover with sparkles, sprinkles and colourful chocolate. We have seen touches of green matcha, purple sparkle bombs and even those with a golden touch for ultimate glamour.
Magic Unicorns
It may come as no surprise that one of the main motifs when decorating HCBs is the magical unicorn, rainbow glitter theme. The fantasy theme doesn't stop there as there are a load of Harry Potter themed bombs making their way into the hot chocolate ordinance as well.
Snow Melt
With all that said, it is Christmas that seems to be the ideal drop zone for HCBs. There are almost endless festive shapes and flavours available to drop - such as Christmas puddings, robins, snowmen, baubles and even the Grinch.
