A huge array of familiar names and brands have pursued meal kits, home delivery and a variety of other models to help survive the ongoing COVID19 pandemic, meaning many of us are now fortunate enough to enjoy our favourite treats without leaving home.
Two big name additions to this world are Swedish furniture purveyors IKEA and the globally recognised department store Harrods, both stepping up to the home delivery plate, ensuring their biggest fans can still get a taste of the dishes most missed.
Launching in Canada, IKEA's new service is nationwide, allowing customers to order their signature meatballs, veggie balls, salmon and a whole host of other restaurant classics. This supplements their current takeaway options from IKEA Bistro where hot dogs, frozen yogurt and their vegan equivalents are all available.
Over in London, the iconic Harrods department store has begun its foray into home delivery, with food on offer from its popular Dining and Food Halls; truly a premium delivery service.
At present, it is only available to those living within 2.5 miles of the store itself, providing residents the choice of ready to eat and ready heat dishes delivered to their door.
The Food Halls menu currently features Truffle Mac 'n' Cheese, Beef Wellington and Wild Mushroom Pithivier. While options at The Dining Halls include Fettuccine with Truffles, Fish and Chips, Rib-Eye Steaks and plenty more; including their range of Harrods own-label wines.
