KFC's Latest Introduction May Surprise You, Plus A New Morley's Collab

There's some both exciting and intriguing NPD from fried chicken QSR of late, with an interesting new addition from KFC and a new collaboration from Heinz and chicken shop Morley's.

KFC, well known for its hugely popular fried chicken has got everyone checking the calendar to make sure it's not the 1st April with the launch of a new BBQ scented perfume. Yes, perfume. The No 11 Eau de BBQ.

The launch isn't the start of a new venture for KFC though, don't worry. It's part of the launch of KFC's new Ultimate BBQ Burger - chicken, crispy onions and BBQ sauce encased in a brioche bun.

Describing the new Eau de Toilette, KFC's website says: We've all been there – that unmistakable aroma of a BBQ drifting through the air, tantalising our senses and leaving us craving the taste of smoky goodness. But what if you could capture that irresistible scent in a bottle? Wonder no more, as KFC proudly announces the launch of No 11 Eau de BBQ, a limited-edition perfume with smoky wood and charcoal notes that embodies the essence of a classic BBQ experience.

Fellow fried chicken QSR chain Morley's has come up with something much more run of the mill thanks to a new collaboration with Heinz, to create the Heinz x Morley's Fried Chicken Sauce.

Blending sweet and spicy flavours designed to pair with fried chicken, of course, the new sauce is made from a base of tomatoes, paprika, onions and a hint of chilli. Morley's co-owner Shan Selvendran explained the reasoning behind the new sauce's introduction for retail, "Seeing the reception to our sauce last summer was truly mad. We knew we had fans, but we couldn't predict the sauces going missing and people messaging us to ask where they could buy it, it was unexpected! We're excited to work with Heinz and bring our fans what they want. It's going to be a dream come true to see our family business' name in supermarkets across the country!"

The new sauce is now available from leading supermarket chains in the UK.
