These two upcoming openings in London caught our eye this week, one reopening its doors after over a year, while the other being a new concept. Before we get to the monthly recap of what's new and open of late, here's the latest from Fitzrovia's Kitchen Table and Mayfair's Manthan.
Having closed along with all other restaurants in the capital when the pandemic hit last year, James Knappett and Sandia Chang's Kitchen Table started a redesign internally to ensure customers had more than just the food to rediscover when returning. After months upon end of being closed, the two Michelin-starred restaurant, one of the few, will reopen its doors this month showcasing a new look inspired by "the simplicity of Japanese Design".
The iconic large counter surrounding the kitchen remains but the seating is down to 18, from 19, and the previously steel countertop has been replaced has been replaced by a more elegant English oak alternative. Looking around the room the decor has been refreshed and away from the kitchen itself there's change too as Bubbledogs departs, making way for the Kitchen Table Bar.
Find out more about Kitchen Table here ahead of its reopening on 20th July.
Not too far as the crow flies you're greeted by an exciting new opening from Chef Rohit Ghai, best known for his cooking at Michelin-starred restaurants Gymkhana and Trishna, before opening his own restaurant in Chelsea, Kutir.
Ghai opens the doors to Manthan this summer serving Indian inspired plates with a focus on sharing, oh and cocktails too. Given his previous exploits this new venture from Ghai is definitely one to watch.
