Good Chocolates, a new online marketplace for handmade chocolates, launches today to support the burgeoning artisan chocolate industry.
In the UK alone, there are over 330 businesses engaged in the manufacture of chocolate and confectionery. The majority of these are small companies (50% have less than 5 employees). Furthermore, according to Key Note (2013), last year the number of these businesses increased by 10%.
Good Chocolates will provide an online platform to support the growing number of artisan chocolatiers, bringing them together to create a unique shopping experience.
The inspiration behind the marketplace comes from Ben, founder and self-confessed chocoholic. He wanted to create a forum for artisan chocolatiers, to promote the diversity and quality of handmade chocolate products available beyond the supermarket shelf.
The Good Chocolates marketplace is being officially launched as part of Chocolate Week 2013. And they've already got over 20 chocolatiers registered, selling over 130 different handmade chocolates.
