Leeds Bakery GET BAKED is popping up at Fortnum & Mason's Ground Floor Patisserie counter in London for a limited time with its viral indulgent 24-layer Bertha Cake.
GET BAKED, founded by Rich Myers, has developed a name for its unique desserts, and have developed a large cult following of cake enthusiasts on social media. Their first 24-layer creation, the Bruce cake, originally had customers queuing for hours hoping to get their hands on a slice.
Perhaps even more indulgent than the enormous Bruce, the exclusive Bertha cake has the same construction apart from the ganache being a mix of milk and dark chocolate, rather than all-dark. It has been crafted in collaboration with Fortnum's and boasts a staggering 24 layers of luscious dark chocolate sponge interwoven with rich, gooey milk and dark chocolate ganache.
Also famous for their pies, GET BAKED is also paying homage to Fortnum's famous knickerbocker glories with another exclusive offering - The Knickerbocker Glory Pie, an all-butter shortcrust baked with raspberry jam and vanilla cake, topped with vanilla and raspberry ganache, and finished with vanilla buttercream, chopped hazelnuts and a glacé cherry.
