Popular London bakery Lily Vanilli is celebrating its 15th birthday with a heartfelt giving back campaign - the Lily Vanilli Birthday Project - giving birthday cakes to kids who might not otherwise get one.
The East London bakery, who has made cakes for a wide range of celebrities, is working with the charity Mayor's Fund for London (MFL),who champions opportunities for young Londoners from low-income backgrounds and diverse communities, to provide cakes throughout the year to children. Cakes will be distributed via community hubs around the capital with the help of customer donations, big or small.
The young recipients can select the design they like from the range on offer before also then customising the flavour from vanilla, chocolate, rose, coconut, lemon, raspberry and salted caramel.
On its website, Lily Vanilli says: "We're celebrating fifteen years of the bakery this year and felt there's no better way to mark the occasion than to celebrate the importance of birthday cakes for everyone, and the ethos of sharing that they represent.
"I've worked with MFL for a while now and am so passionate about the work they're doing to help children around London; I'm thrilled to be able to play a part in the cause. There's something so unique and important about having a cake baked especially for you, to share with loved ones, I think everyone should have the chance to experience it, and in the current climate it's important to remember and celebrate that."
