The 2024 edition of the MICHELIN Guide for Singapore has been announced, featuring a total of 283 locations including 51 starred restaurants including one new 2 Star restaurant.
"Singapore's multicultural character extends beautifully to its world-renowned food scene. The variety of options — from fine-dining establishments to iconic hawker centres steeped in tradition — offer a truly captivating culinary experience for visitors," explained Gwendal Poullennec, the International Director of the MICHELIN Guide.
"Our inspectors are also witnessing a surge of talented young chefs joining the kitchens. Their passion injects fresh energy and creativity into the scene, pushing boundaries and ensuring Singapore remains a leader in culinary innovation. While their individual styles are distinct, these young chefs share a common vision to collectively elevate Singapore's reputation as a global gourmet paradise for discerning food lovers worldwide."
The annual guide, now in its 8th edition for Singapore, features three 3 Star restaurants, six 2 Stars and a further 42 1 Star venues. Alongside there are 81 restaurants that have been awarded Bib Gourmand status.
The 3 Star restaurants include Odette - a timeless fine dining destination serving Modern French cuisine helmed by Chef Julien Royer and inspired by his grandmother; Zen - a contemporary restaurant championing a seafood-heavy tasting menu with Japanese influences, and sister restaurant to Frantzén in Stockholm; and the third 3 Star venue is Les Amis, another French cuisine-focused fine dining restaurant where the prix-fixe menus present a wide range of modern French classics with occasional Asian twists, in which simple ingredient combinations and seasoning highlight the natural flavours.
The 2 Star list features the addition of Meta for 2024, focused on refined modern cooking combines Korean traditions and bold flavours with contemporary minimalist aesthetics, led by Korean chef Sun Kim. The other 2 Star venues include Jaan by Kirk Westaway, Shoukouwa, Saint Pierre, Cloudstreet and Thevar.
