Alternative plastic-free chewing gum brand Milliways has taken another big step forward in taking on its mainstream competition with its first UK supermarket listing in Sainsbury's.
Having partnered with WHSmith to feature on store shelves around the country already last summer, in July 2022, Milliways will be stocked in Sainsbury's supermarkets around the UK with two of its four flavours featured - Peppermint and Bubblemint.
The brand offers an alternative to the common non-biodegradable single-use plastic gum offered by leading industry brands. Milliways gum contains seven ingredients, whilst being biodegradable, plastic-free and plant-based. The offering is aimed at tackling the widespread issue of littered chewing gum, quoted as being the second most littered item globally behind cigarettes.

The British company secured went through a successful raise back in October 2021 to fund growth and its mission to make plastic-free chewing gum the norm.
