San Francisco is set to get its first NFT restaurant and membership-based club, situated on the rooftop of the Salesforce Transit Center, backed by a group of leading Tech firm CEOs and founders.
The new project comes from the SHO Group, who describe themselves as ... on a mission to defy expectations and shift perspectives through the creation of meaningful moments and interactions that rewrite the rules of hospitality. Through this, we aspire to build Innovative communities that inspire people to discover, grow, support, and connect.
It's still yet to be announced just how much the restaurant will cost you to become a member of however if other NFT restaurants elsewhere in the US are anything to go by it won't be cheap. New York's Flyfish Club for example costs a minimum of $13,000 for membership, depending on cryptocurrency rates. The SHŌ Club has announced though that it will offer three tiers of membership, titled Earth, Wind, and Fire, with the highest tier granting the holder "ownership like benefits" as well as access.
The restaurant is the brainchild of two people, Japanese chef Shotaro "Sho" Kamio and tech entrepreneur Josh Sigel. With Kamio's influence, the restaurant will feature a Japanese irori, a sunken-pit grill on which food will be cooked over charcoal. The rooftop lounge will be serving up a range of sushi, tapas and other small dishes curated by chef Masaki Sasaki. Whist on the ground floor, visitors will be able to pick up a selection fo grab-and-go items including bento boxes, salads and sake.
