New Openings September 2025

Our latest monthly recap of the hottest new food and beverage openings from around the world on trendhub is live, spotlighting six highlight openings from September here on the blog.

In no particular order, six highlights from the comprehensive foodwatching and drinkswatching new opening reports are:

Mommy Pai's, Nolita, New York City

Mommy Pai's is a Thai chicken finger takeout counter from Ann Redding and Matt Danzer from Thai Diner.

This fast-food operation serves Thai food with a twist, namely chicken fingers that are either grilled or fried with flavours like lemongrass and coconut or Muay Thai. These are served with a choice of eight sauces such as Heavenly BBQ that is said to taste like Thai beef jerky or Noom Green Sauce. Mommy Cakes are like American Johnny Cakes served with som tum slaw and waffle fries. Drinks are tropical with pineapple-basil, tamarind and mango-coconut. They also serve sandwiches and dessert.

Loom Lounge, North Shore, Sydney

Loom Lounge is a new listening venue which opened in collaboration with Li'l Darlin and Sultry & Sample.

The cocktail list will be created on a base of classics with a modern twist, like an Aperol margarita, a pinot noir negroni or an espresso fizz. The food menu features sharing plates with snacks, small plates and pizzettas. There will be a list of DJs and musicians on rotation.

Halaya, Spring Street, Melbourne

Halaya is an all-day café and bakery that serves Filipino food, with their own touches added.

Pastry Chef Laurice Fajardo, who has trained in Manila, and Elbert Estampador are the owners of the business. Ube is the focus of the menu with house made halaya featuring in many dishes including pastries and their ube cloud. They also serve ube Swiss rolls, ube langka, Basque cheesecake, and ube buco tart. The savoury side includes longanisa subs, rice bowls that have reimagined silog with beef slices and pork belly adobo. They also serve brunch with a Filipino twist such as ube filled shokupan topped with polvoron, and okoy fritters with calamansi yoghurt.

Boutto Suru Bar, Tokyo

Boutto Suru means 'space out' and this bar (which is more like a café) serves non-alcoholic drinks including tea and coffee.

The bar is designed as a place to chill out and do absolutely nothing, but drink. Customers are served a cup of Spacing Out Coffee or Spacing Out Herbal Tea to sip on when they arrive. This is a limited-time opening hosted by art gallery Muun.

Little Wing Sliced, Odyssey Place, Belfast

Little Wing has launched a new concept called Little Wing Sliced serving pizza by the slice or a whole 24-inch pie.

They are serving classic toppings as well as new toppings like Fungi with Marinara sauce, garlic wild mushrooms, burrata and basil pesto. They also have Signature toppings including a twist on a Hawaiian with pulled ham hock, mozzarella, fior di latte, crispy bacon crumb, candied chilli and pepper pineapple. There will also be a selection of sides including giant mozzarella sticks and polenta fritters.

Kerb Social Club, Spitalfields, London

Kerb is launching an American Sports Bar style venue. Kerb Social Club is a retro-style bar that has a pub comfort and retro style furniture, and vintage memorabilia.

There will be plenty of community spirit and lots of entertainment along with private rooms that will host Super Bowl parties and have games consoles, 100-inch screens, karaoke booths, pool tables and darts. Street food from Only Jerkin', Oh My Dog! and Cutie Pies will be served.
