Nine-Seater London Sushi Bar Wins Third Michelin Star

The Araki in central London has recently been awarded its third Michelin star, becoming the first Japanese restaurant in the UK to do so.

Run by Japanese chef Mitsuhiro Araki, wife Yoko and one assistant, the restaurant runs just nine covers at a time but with an exquisite set menu that costs £300 per person, seated around the chef's table.

Having opening in 2014, and situated in the affluent Mayfair area, The Akari's third star sees it join Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London, as well as The Fat Duck and The Waterside Inn, both in Bray, Berkshire, as three-star rated.
