Our Next Summit Speaker, Mursal Saiq, Co-Founder of Cue Point

We couldn't be more thrilled to announce the next speaker in thefoodpeople's 13th Annual Food & Beverage Trend Summit, taking place virtually via Zoom on Tuesday 17th November 2026.

Joining us for this year's Summit is Mursal Saiq, British Afghan pitmaster, live fire chef and restaurateur, widely recognised as one of London's leading chefs and an important UK voice shaping the future of inclusive, culturally expressive hospitality.

Mursal is the Co-Founder of Cue Point London, an award-winning live fire restaurant and events concept known for its bold barbecue, integrated storytelling, and culturally led approach to food, music and space.

Her cooking is rooted in American barbecue and live fire technique, shaped by British hospitality discipline and deeply informed by her Afghan heritage.

Mursal's work sits at the intersection of food, culture and social impact, creating experiences that go beyond dining to become platforms for community, dialogue and representation. She is known for building integrated restaurant and event spaces where menus, music, design and narrative work together, with inclusivity and multiculturalism at the core.

Across all her work, Mursal is committed to changing how hospitality looks, who it serves and who it is built for. Her mission is not only to cook exceptional food, but to create spaces that redistribute opportunity, tell overlooked stories and build lasting cultural and economic impact within the industry.

What will Mursal's session be about?

Mursal will be joining us to explore how culture, migration and identity are reshaping food - and who gets to decide what the future of food looks like.

We'll get under the skin of some big questions: As our food scene becomes more multicultural, who gets to shape the food we eat? How do cuisines move from the margins into the mainstream without losing their identity or becoming diluted? And what does meaningful inclusion really look like in an industry that has so often celebrated diverse food without always giving diverse voices a seat at the table?

Mursal will also share lessons from her journey building Cue Point and championing Afghan food and hospitality - from bringing an underrepresented cuisine to new audiences, to building a business that celebrates culture and challenges perceptions.
