Popular American fried chicken QSR chain Popeyes is set to open its first UK venue later this year as the first of up to 350 restaurants over the next 10 years.
At the end of March the fast food fried chicken chain that's one of the main protagonists of the chicken sandwich wars announced the move into the UK market, but is yet to announce where the first venue will be located.
Popeyes, founded in New Orleans in 1972, features a menu heavily focused on fried chicken which is marinated for 12 hours, available in a sandwich or on its own. Other popular menu items include fried shrimp, red beans and rice, and also a flounder sandwich.
The UK is Popeyes fourth European market having previously launched in Spain, Switzerland and Turkey, alongside other international representation across 29 countries.
