There's a new player in London's ultra-fast delivery market as Russian tech giant Yandex launches the new Yango Deli brand in the capital servicing grocery deliveries. Four new dark locations in London, located in Bethnal Green, Battersea, Bermondsey and Acton, will act as depots which will be able to service over a million potential customers across the capital.
Yango Deli has claimed that it will be able to service Londoners within around 15 minutes of ordering, from the over 2,500 products stocked, including a range of fresh produce and baked pastries, as well as some international brands and also a number of local favourites too.
In the push for complete convenience at low cost, Yango Deli does not charge a delivery fee and there is no minimum order quantity - we're yet to see what the lowest priced item online is but
Evgeny Chernikov, general manager at Yango Deli UK spoke commented on the new London launch. "The UK, and London in particular, is an exciting new market for Yango Deli, as the city is especially well suited to the dark store model. The densely populated capital is full of busy professionals, young students and many others who appreciate the convenience of a fast, stress-free shopping experience."
Yandex Group is Russia's biggest technology company and the fifth largest search engine worldwide. It originally launched its ultra-fast delivery service in Russia in 2019 under the Yandex.Lavka brand. Further expansion into Paris and Tel Aviv followed under the Yango Deli brand.
