UK supermarket chain Sainsbury's recently launched a new vegan range in its stores, increasing their current vegan and vegetarian range by 10%. Naturli's fresh meat-free mince and burgers, so realistic that they will be stocked in the meat aisle next to real beef mince – a first for UK supermarkets.
As part of the supermarket's support of plant-based lifestyles, the launch includes the expanded Love Veg! range, comprises seven new vegetarian and vegan ready meals, each developed to make eating plant-based even easier. Highlights includes an on-trend alternative for the summer, Mac 'n Jack, combining two street-food sensations - macaroni cheese with jackfruit, as well Chilli Non-Carne & Rice and Veggie Katsu Curry with sweet potato and sticky rice.
For those searching for a more realistic meat alternative is exclusively launch; Naturli' Minced and Naturli' Patties – hailing from Scandinavia, these hotly anticipated products have been designed to look and taste like meat, with a strong umami flavour and texture playing a key focus, with the addition of the beetroot meaning the burger patties retain an authentic 'redness' when cooked.
