Sandows Launches UK's First Dairy-Free Coffee Soda

Cold brew coffee brand Sandows has launched a new sparkling coffee soda, the first of its kind in the UK, as fizzy coffee continues to gain traction - a trend we recently covered on our trendhub.

The new cold brews are available in two flavours, spice - ginger, orange blossom and black spice; and citrus - lemon, lime and grapefruit. As well as being dairy and gluten-free, each also contains less than 5g of sugar per 100ml which means that they fall below the threshold for the recently introduced sugar tax.

Sandows co-founder, Hugh Duffie said: "As the original British cold brew brand, with over four years-worth of insights from sampling hundreds of thousands of UK consumers, we have a unique perspective on the UK cold brew category. Our range of cold brew drinks without milk gives retailers the opportunity to position cold brew as a great low or no sugar pick-me-up for the afternoon slump.

"We are looking to position the new sodas alongside their functional competitors, such as Coke and Red Bull, rather than alongside iced coffee brands, with the aim for them to become an everyday staple."

The launch comes perfectly timed as we just recently reported on Coffee Soda in our drinkswatching April 2018 report. Have a read of the report on our trendhub here. Can't access the report as you're not a tfp subscriber? Get in touch today to find out more about joining.
