Saturday 9th June - World Gin Day!

Gin lovers rejoice - Saturday 9th June is World Gin Day, an international celebration of one of our favourite tipples, and an excuse to have a few drink too. We take a look at what's going on around the UK to celebrate.

Held from 7-10th June, you can join the celebration in the capital, at World Gin Day London. A four day festival of the juniper-liquor where many well-known brands are putting on events as part of the celebration. Maybe it's a Foraging Masterclass with The Botanist Gin that takes your fancy, or a Gin and Cheese Pairing Workshop with Foxhole Gin - there's plenty on to keep everyone busy.

Another few locations getting behind the celebration are Knight's Bar at Simpson's in the Strand, a haven for gin lovers serving several exclusive cocktails - head down to try their special Red Snapper, a twist on the classic Bloody Mary just for World Gin Day.

Otherwise, try out Soho Square's Graphic Bar, who have teamed up with Pink Pepper Gin to create an Afternoon in Segonzac cocktail, available to those with the DrinkUp London digital pass. Inspired by General Manager of Graphic Nico Pradella's trip to the small town of Segonzac in France; the flavours of Beetroot, basil and chamomile are reminiscent of an afternoon spent sipping gin in tranquil French gardens.

We took a look at what's new on the shelves in our drinkswatching report in May, including Tanqueray's Flavoured Gin - have a read of what's new by reading the full report.
