Starbucks is serving a luxury $42 afternoon tea, called 'Roastery Pasticcini Flight', at its massive 4-story roastery in Tokyo to celebrate 25 years in Japan.
The limited time only Starbucks' afternoon tea includes eight types of pasticcini, Italian for colourful bite-sized cakes and bakery treats, and three small savoury items, such as savoury scones. The afternoon tea also comes with a choice Teavana tea from four flavours: pineapple tea, hōjicha green tea, strawberry oolong, and a citrus, lavender, and sage tea.
The afternoon tea is being served at a one of the chain's six larger flagship-style stores, the 32,000-square-foot store in Tokyo where the Roastery is located. This four-story upmarket store sells espresso martinis, cream sodas, and whiskey.
Starbucks launched the new concept in celebration of its 25 year anniversary since opening its first store in Japan. It also launched a unique frappuccino for each of Japan's 47 prefectures, such as a corn, white chocolate, and cornflake frappuccino that can only be found in Hokkaido, and sweetened soy sauce, coffee, and cream frappuccino only available in Chiba.
