Sustainable Snack Company One Good Thing Introduces 'World-First' Wrapper-Free Bars

Sustainable snack bar company One Good Thing has launched what it claims to be the 'world's first' wrapper-free snack and protein bars, using an edible, waterproof coating.

The initial claim may be up for debate with alternatives on the market, from brands such as Nurhu, but the innovation can't be countered as this 100% natural edible coating is there to do good - replacing the traditional plastic wrapper. OGT has achieved this step using a beeswax-based outer layer that also features other natural ingredients to ensure that the taste of the bars contained within are not compromised.

To eat the bars, OGT say to first rinse the bar under the tap before consumption. "We like to think of our bars as just like an apple. When you're ready to eat one, you can just give it a quick rinse. Rinsing the bars won't affect the taste or make it go sticky and soggy," the brand says on its website.

Inside, each bar is made from 100% raw cold-pressed, low carbon footprint ingredients. Snack bar flavours revolve mostly around traditional sweet desserts and cakes, including Lemon Drizzle, Cherry Bakewell, Rhubarb & Custard, and Strawberries & Cream. The protein flavours follow a similar route, including Butterscotch, Banoffee, Honeycomb and Salted Caramel amongst others.
