The Laverstoke Park Field to Fork Festival

Laverstoke Park Farm’s Field to Fork Festival, in association with Sainsbury’s is a fantastic day out for all the family with lots to do for all ages together.  From foodie workshops and farm tours to the British BBQ Championships featuring 20 of the UK’s most renowned restaurants battling it out on the coals to impress feared food critics it is a day not to be missed by food lovers!

Not only do visitors get a rare insight into Laverstoke Park which is in Overton, Hampshire,  with tours of the farm there are chef demos including James Martin, workshops in butter making, bread making, cheese and ale matching, ice-cream making, wine tasting and much more… Visitors can also see how Laverstoke make their beautiful mozzarella, take in the local producers food market, go on a walk through the ancient woodlands and listen to the story teller you will find there, see sheepdog displays, meet the pigs, sheep, chickens and buffalos, get involved in the barn dancing and live music, plus many kids activities.

The festival also features the British BBQ Championships – in association with Weber and Newman’s own. Running across the whole weekend, 20 of the UK’s best restaurants will be put through their paces by a formidable panel of food critics including Charles Campion, Xanthe Clay and Lucas Hollweg with Nigel Barden at the helm. This year’s line up of restaurants comprises- 

The reigning champions Cinnamon Kitchen, Bistrot Bruno Loubet, Iberica, Maze Grill, Alyn Williams at The Westbury, Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor, Racine, Boisdale, The Narrow, Pont de la Tour, Foxtrot Oscar, Opera Tavern, 28-50, Kai Mayfair, Rhodes 24, The Kingham Plough, The Crown – Bray, Laneston House Hotel and Dego’.

At Laverstoke you can see the 20 narrowed down to 10 – who will go through to the final at Taste of London, Sunday 24 June. Visitors can also roll up their sleeves and get involved in the Amateur BBQ Championships on the Saturday, facing judgment from James Martin and his panel of BBQ aficionados.

 When it’s time to draw breath, pull up a straw bale and nominate one of your party to cook up a storm in the social BBQ area – created by Weber BBQs - with a league of chefs to hand to assist the alfresco cook in creating some great dishes using Laverstoke’s award winning produce. Alternatively leave the work to Laverstoke’s chefs and choose from hog or buffalo roasts, burgers and more…not forgetting the farm’s delicious ice-cream, ales and lagers!
