thefoodpeople at OzHarvest Community CookOff

Head of Market APAC at thefoodpeople, Alison Swindells spent a fantastic day this week attending the OzHarvest Community CookOff at Chef Somer Sivrioğlu's restaurant Maydanoz, Sydney, as part of a collective mission to raise $2.5 million to help eliminate hunger and fight food waste.

OzHarvest is Australia's leading food rescue organisation, working to save surplus food & deliver to charities that help people in need. Sharing food with dignity and respect with those in need has been the foundation of the Community CookOff over the last ten years. With the cost of living at an all-time high, the event not only provides urgent food relief but also raises vital funds to keep OzHarvest operating.

The OzHarvest Community CookOff brings together CEO's, business leaders, executive teams and top chefs to cook delicious meals for vulnerable people. Together, they aim to raise millions to help eliminate hunger and fight food waste. Please show your support as every dollar donated allows OzHarvest to deliver two meals, so any amount big or small will help - https://www.ceocookoff.com.au/fundraisers/alisonswindells

Speaking about the day, Alison said 'It was so much fun and what a great group of people including executive chef Arman Uz, Chef Somer Sivrioğlu and OzHarvest Founder, Ronni Kahn. We prepared meals that were dispatched to a partner charity for distribution and we hosted a group of people from a community group who we then had lunch with. It was such an enriching experience. The lamb shoulder with charred eggplant sauce was next level!'
