Last week we took ourselves off for a caffeine hit to London Coffee Festival to spot the latest trends in drinks and snacks, as well as how established trends are evolving. As with previous years, the festival had a focus on sustainability, thanks in part to the organisers' ongoing commitment to initiatives like Project Waterfall.
Flavours centred on a spicier and more savoury palate, which may well be thanks to the consumer move away from sweeter, sugary drinks. Cold versions of hot beverages are also on the rise, with nitro and canned teas and coffees very popular.
