Islington, London, is set for a new Scottish treat in the form of The Shoap, a shop and deli from the team behind Auld Hag, a popular street food stall in Dalston selling bowls of haggis, neeps and tatties.
Founders Gregg Boyd and his partner Maddi set up Auld Hag in 2021, originally just delivering hot food to people at home by bikes before then trading at weekend markets and having a pop-up residency, as well as even cooking for the Scottish Government.
Fast forward to 2023 and following a crowdfunding campaign to help find its feet, Boyd is set to open his new concept in Islington at the start of 2024 and aiming to become the home of Scottish food and drink in London.
Glasgow morning rolls baked in-house to be filled for breakfast and lunch; shortbread, Dundee cake and Ecclefechan tarts to go with your coffee roasted on Skye; cheese from Inverness to Mull; beer and charcuterie from Edinburgh and much more. All sourced from small Scottish producers that will also be invited down to host tasting nights and events.
