Pizza Express launch a new frozen retail range exclusively in Tesco, Blue Circle Foods has introduced new mini salmon sausages in the US, and Spam is back in the spotlight with a new frozen snack in UK.
First up in the latest wave of frozen food news and innovation is restaurant chain Pizza Express which has recently further expanded its retail range, with frozen versions of its pizzas, pastas and garlic bread now available in Tesco stores across the UK.
Our frozen range is backed by more than 20 years of experience in offering customers restaurant quality chilled pizzas, and this new range allows us to enter the frozen category where we know our customers are purchasing for convenience and different meal occasions to that of chilled," explained Pizza Express' Retail Director Rich Mills. "We're very proud to be an omnichannel brand and with our retail range, customers are able to have an enlivening dining experience at home – whether it's dinner for tonight with our chilled range, or an upcoming dining occasion customers can now plan ahead for with our frozen range."
The new frozen range, which accompanies an already established cook-at-home range of pizzas, dressings and dips, includes the Margherita Speciale, the American Speciale, the Padana and Pollo BBQ across its pizzas, as well as Lasagna, Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni, Pollo Forza Pasta and Spaghetti Meatballs, plus its Garlic Bread with Mozzarella.
Over in the US, seafood specialist Blue Circle Foods has a new line of miniature salmon sausages in time for the holidays, a perfect snack platter food. The new Chilli Lime Salmon Shorties, created in collaboration with Spicewalla, are about an inch and a half long making them easy to serve snack foods which bring a retro vibe to a platter. These bite-sized savoury snacks are seasoned with Spicewalla's Chilli Lime Seasoning and hardwood smoked to create a classic sausage flavour.
Finally, a brand that polarises opinion is back with its latest innovation, Spam's new Frozen Cheesy Bites. These new bake-in-the-oven bites feature the brand's classic pork meat paired with a cheese centre and wrapped in batter. Exclusively sold in Iceland, these new frozen bites also arrive just in time for the festive season in the UK.
