Two leading alcohol brands have launched new ready-to-drink cans, with a single can Smirnoff Ice and a collaboration between Bacardi and Coca-Cola on a new RTD cocktail can.
The new Bacardi rum and Coca-Cola canned cocktail is part of Coca-Cola's expansion into the growing alcohol RTD category. James Quincey, chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company, said: "We are continuing to develop our portfolio as a total beverage company, including in the growing alcohol ready-to-drink market. This new relationship with Bacardi supports our strategic expansion, and we look forward to the introduction of Bacardi Mixed with Coca-Cola next year."
The full roll out of the new Bacardi and Cola canned drinks will take place in 2025 with the drink's ABV being around 5%.
Elsewhere, the popular Smirnoff Ice drink, a combination of vodka with lemon-lime soda, is being canned individually to celebrate 25 years of the brand being in the market. The drinks are part of the brand's push for more convenient options for customers looking to celebrate or enjoy a drink on the go.
