The Air Fryer trend is no longer contained to just the kitchen at home as the smart cooking device is heading to high street hospitality thanks to a new pop-up restaurant opening in Shoreditch, London, this week.
Opening its doors tomorrow, 27th September, for one day only AIR will serve a set menu of 12 dishes - three starters, four mains and three desserts. The concept is being launched by popular author and self-titled air fryer expert Nathan Anthony in collaboration with eBay in a sitting which airs to showcase the versatility of the device.
'These speedy countertop machines can whip up a dish in record time with lower energy use and costs – and despite the name, they're useful for far more than frying' explained Anthony.
Menu highlights include steak tacos with avocado cream, miso glazed aubergine, aglio e olio chicken wings, nduja-stuffed arancini balls, peaches with ice-cream, honey, and pistachios and Creme Egg croissant balls.
We identified the Air Fryer trend nearly five years ago as COVID and then the Cost of Living Crisis accelerated their use at home thanks to its speed and low-energy required, minimising costs.
