West Cornwall Pasty Co Unveils Debut Low-Calorie Vegetable Pasty

West Cornwall Pasty Company, part of the Samworth Brothers group portfolio, has unveiled its first low-calorie pasty with its new limited edition Mediterranean Vegetable option launching around the UK.

Packed with authentic Greek feta, tomatoes, peppers, courgettes and oregano, and encased in light olive oil pastry, the pasty is based on replicating the lighter eating of the Mediterranean diet. The 'lighter bite' contains just 350 calories.

"As well as being created to be a great tasting lighter bite, our new Summer pasty has also been inspired by globetrotting travels. We've long been inspired by the glorious Greek Mediterranean diet - fresh, tasty and bursting in flavours that transport you in an instant to sunny times in your favourite Med hot spot," the West Cornwall Pasty Company website says.

The step towards offering lighter options is a growing trend we've identified over the past years. Find out more about our trend research over on the trendhub. Not a member? Get in touch and sign up today - here.
