The annual Veganuary challenge returns once again this month promoting going plant-based for the entire month of January and once again brands across the industry are reacting with exclusives and new product launches. We've taken a look at some of the key highlights from this year's campaign as well as recapping our discussion with Veganuary founder Matthew Glover at last year's tfp Trend Summit.
Ready Burger Launch 99p Vegan Burger
British affordable burger chain Ready Burger has launched a world first this month with its new 99p Plant Burger, available all this month. Ready Burger launched early last year, setting out to rival McDonald's and Burger King with plant-based alternatives of their iconic burger. Their latest menu addition has set the bar even higher.
Ginsters Expand Vegan Range
Exclusively available during Veganuary, Ginsters have launched a new Vegan Creamy Garlic Mushroom Slice available nationwide in the UK. The new slice joins the brand's meat-free range and follows in the footsteps of three plant-based pasties which have all proven successful to date.
Domino's Intros PepperoNAY Pizza This Month
QSR pizza chain Domino's has launched its new vegan offering for Veganuary, the PepperoNAY pizza with vegan cheese, its signature vine-ripened tomato sauce and a vegan pepperoni alternative from The Vegetarian Butcher. This joins the brands current plant-based offering of the Vegan Margherita, The Chick-Ain't and Vegan Vegi Supreme.
Chipotle Launches Plant-Based Chorizo Across Stores In US
The QSR chain Chipotle has also joined the plant-based push this January with the introduction of its plant-based chorizo across all 2,700 locations in the US. "Plant-Based Chorizo is our best chorizo ever and proves that you don't have to sacrifice flavour to enjoy a vegan or vegetarian protein," explained a brand representative.
Meatless Farm Intros Vegan Chicken Breasts In The UK
Leader in the meat-free industry, Meatless Farm has launched a new Soya Free Plant-Based Chicken Breast offering this month, promising to be the first of a kind. The new product has landed in Tesco and ASDA stores across the UK this January and is made with a blend of plant proteins.
Caffe Nero Partners With THIS For Veganuary
Coffee chain Caffe Nero has partnered with the plant-based meat pioneers THIS to launch two new items across menus in the UK this month - the Plant-Based Chicken Arrabbiata Panini and the Plant-Based Sausage Ciabatta. Both feature THIS's meat alternatives, THIS Isn't Chicken and THIS Isn't Pork.
