Wonky Veg Drinks Brand Dash Water Debuts New Raspberry Drink

Dash Water, the start-up drinks company making beverages from rejected from wonky fruit and vegetables, has launched its latest flavour, with its raspberry-infused sparkling water.

The flavour launch came alongside a new campaign coinciding with Valentine's Day earlier this month, titled Squashed with Love. Like all products used to infuse Dash Water drinks, the flavour used unwanted raspberries that would otherwise go unused by supermarkets.

Talking to FoodBev.com, Dash Water co-founder Alex Wright said: "We only infuse the most delicious flavours, and UK-grown raspberries are just that. This fruit is perfect for our unique infusion process where we steep fruit which is either wonky, or in the raspberry's case, is slightly squashed, and therefore does not meet the strict visual aesthetic requirements for the supermarket shelves."

Last summer, we covered 'Waste Not, Want Not' as a topic in our June foodwatching report, with zero waste continuing to be a big topic within the food and drinks industry. The zero waste trend fits into 4 of our food & drink mega trends for 2017-18; Post Modernist, People's Revolution, Ethical Eating and Once Upon a Time.
