World Vegan Day 2021 - What's On

November 1st marks international World Vegan Day, an annual celebration of veganism and plant-based eating all around the world. We take a quick look at some of the plant-based and vegan highlights we've spotted recently.

Burger King Goes Vegan In Madrid
International QSR chain Burger King has opened a 100% meat-free restaurant in Madrid at the end of October, titled Vurger King. Amongst the menu items are the Plant-Based Whopper Burger, meatless nuggets and the Long Vegetal, the plant-based version by the Long Chicken.

Tesco Cuts Meat-Free Costs
Supermarket chain Tesco has cut prices across lines in its plant-based range in a drive to make shopping for meat-free products more affordable. The UK's largest supermarket chain has cut the prices of dozens of products in its Plant Chef range which features mealtime staples like sausages, burgers, mince, and nuggets. Sainsburys Introduces Plant-Based Salmon, Tuna and Fishcake Alternatives
The supermarket chain has launched a series of plant-based alternatives in-store ahead of World Vegan Day as part of their iconic Plant Pioneers range. The Plant Pioneers range has also seem a number of other introductions recently across the range including No Chicken Buffalo Wings or No Chicken Gyozas, plus some sweet additions too including the Plant Pioneers Lemon Cake and Plant Pioneers Chocolate Cake.

Fashion Industry
It's not just the food and beverage industry making news around World Vegan Day as other lifestyle and fashion industries see launches and activations too. One that caught our eye was a collaboration between France and Manchester United footballer Paul Pogba, Stella McCartney and Adidas have teamed up to launch the world's first 100% vegan football boots.
