Hotels Are Now Letting You Forage For Your Own Food

Discovering a new destination through hotels and food is one of the best ways to explore, but to combine this with sourcing the food yourself from local areas takes the discover to a new level. There are now hotels offering you just this - inviting visitors to get involved and find out where their food is coming from, straight from the source.

Take The Tides Inn, Virginia, for example - this seaside venue sees visitors informally enrol in their Oyster Academy whereby they learn about Virginia's oyster industry before heading out to the water to source then prepare their bushel.

Another good example is Kinloch Lodge in Scotland where guests are taken on a foraging journey through the forest by a local guide, unearthing ingredients to be used both on the plate and also in the cocktails mixed by the bartenders back at the lodge.
